How payment works

  1. At your first visit, the office reviews your coverage: Medicare, VA, auto claim, private insurance or cash pay.
  2. If Dr. Bolt recommends care, you get the cost of the plan and the portion you owe before any treatment.
  3. Payment is expected at the time of service.

Medicare

The office accepts Medicare. Medicare pays chiropractors for spinal adjustments only. Exams and X-rays depend on your plan, so ask the front desk before your visit. Medicare does not cover spinal decompression, therapeutic laser or shockwave. Patients who choose those services pay for them directly.

Medicare Advantage plans set their own chiropractic rules. Bring your plan card and ask the front desk whether the office accepts your plan.

VA Community Care

Veterans enrolled in VA health care receive chiropractic care through the VA Community Care program. The VA issues an authorization before your first visit. Bring the authorization and your VA provider’s name, and the office handles the rest. See chiropractic care for veterans.

Auto injury

The office accepts med pay from your auto policy and attorney liens. Dr. Bolt documents your injuries from the first visit for your claim. Bring your claim number and the contact for your adjuster or attorney. See auto injury care.

Private insurance

Coverage for chiropractic care varies by plan.

  • PPO plans let you see a chiropractor without a referral, in or out of network.
  • HMO plans often require a referral from your primary doctor and limit you to in-network providers.

Ask the front desk which plans the office accepts and how your plan is billed.

Cash pay and cards

The office accepts cash, checks, debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. Ask the front desk for cash prices.

Financing with CareCredit

The office accepts CareCredit, a health care credit card that lets you pay for care over time, subject to credit approval. Ask the front desk how to apply, or apply online through CareCredit.
